Tradition in farming
In Ginestar, "Ribera d'Ebre", for generations our family has dedicated itself to cultivating the land and obtaining the best fruits from it.
Family business founded by Manuel Suñer in 1936 with the production of extra virgin olive oil in the Ginestar mill, where we currently continue with this task. Later we began the production of bulk wine from our own vineyards and under the management of Fernando Suñer, land was purchased and the facilities were expanded.
It was in 1999 that Manuel Suñer, the third generation, decided to undertake a new project. The reconstruction of the old winery located on the ground floor of the family house in order to produce a bottled, select and limited production with organic farming. Recently, his children MªAlba, contributing knowledge as an oenologist, and Josep, doing marketing and wine tourism tasks, joined the project. Today we continue with the production of oil and wine in bulk and bottled.

Our olive oil. Tradition and evolution
For generations, the family business "Olis Suñer" has been dedicated to the production of oil with respect for the environment and tradition, perseverance in working the land and a passion for research. We are pleased to be able to offer you a superior category extra virgin olive oil with the excellence of its nutritional properties, the aroma and flavor of fresh olives.
Olis Suñer offers you extra virgin olive oil from the first cold pressing. Obtained directly from olives and only through mechanical procedures. Certified oil by Catalan Council for Organic Agricultural Production (CCPAE). Organization that regulates products of the highest quality and respectful of the environment.

The Olive Trees
Suñer oil comes from its own farms located in Ginestar. It alternates the traditional cultivation of century-old olive trees with super-intensive cultivation.

The variety Arbequina, introduced in recent years to our production, comes from super intensive plantations. The varieties Empeltre and Willow Leaf they come from traditional plantations of centuries-old olive trees
Harvest
The different varieties are harvested at the optimum point of maturity. The harvest takes place between the months of October and November.

Super-intensive plantations allow continuous mechanized harvesting, reducing the harvest time and preserving the optimal conditions of the fruit. Thanks to this harvesting system, the time between harvest and pressing is reduced to a minimum, guaranteeing the quality of the oil obtained. Harvesting and pressing is reduced to approximately one hour and the olive does not fall to the ground.
Ecological mill
We have five thermo-blenders with a capacity of 1000 kg, prepared to be infused with nitrogen and with constant maintenance of the milkshake temperature at 27º, which guarantees the conservation of all the qualities of aroma and flavor.

The facilities of the Suñer mill in Ginestar – two continuous two-phase or ecological extraction lines – allow for complete hygiene control throughout the process, operation of the facilities without manipulating the product and maximum speed in the treatment of olives. The Suñer mill also offers this milling service to individuals.
Our wine, experience and youth
Today, father and sons, we combine experience and youth to offer you a wine made with tenderness, taking care of each of the phases of the process, to present each autumn a select and limited production with the character of our land.
Our Merlot wines come from Organic Agriculture. Certified by the Catalan Council for Organic Agricultural Production (CCPAE). An organization that regulates products of the highest quality and respectful of the environment.
The Celler Suñer is protected by the Tarragona Designation of Origin. A designation with a lot of history, one of the oldest in the State and with great diversity. This diversity is what makes it rich and unique. We are also part of the Cellers Singulars Association, a group of family wineries of the DO Tarragona.
At "Cellers Singulars", we are characterized by being young entrepreneurs with the desire to create synergies among ourselves to give value to the territory, the wineries and our wines.
We follow the philosophy of making single-varietal wines that allow us to discover the nuances of the fruit and perceive the character of the terroir. We work with the Merlot and Macabeo varieties.
